Area Operations Advisor

• Ensure that all aspects of operations and maintenance are considered during all stages of development planning and execution in compliance with policies and procedures

• Ensure that those accountable for performing their job are in accordance with their expected rolls and follow all safe work practices and procedures.

• Ensure that those under my work direction are trained to perform their key roles and responsibilities and understand their key roles and responsibilities and are empowered to stop work that is not properly planned and documented.

• Verify that personnel under my work direction are performing their roles and responsibilities by performing Managing Safe Work (MSW) audits, attending pre-job safety meeting and performing documents reviews.

• Perform MSW audits on a routine basis, encourage and reinforce the use of Stop Work Authority and ensure that all work is planned and executed in accordance with all documented Safe Work Practices and Procedures.

• Ensure that employees under my work direction are held accountable for performing work in a safe manner and

• Use all necessary tools to reinforce positive and negative behaviors in an appropriate manner.

• Deliver adequate input required for operations readiness in the areas of operational

HSEQ, cost management, commissioning & facilities start-up and handover, organization, well operations, production operations and maintenance operations

• Ensure that all necessary infrastructures and logistics to support operations are implemented in an effective and cost-efficient manner before field start-up

• Assist in ensuring that all safety studies and HSE cases are completed in time as per project schedule and results are incorporated in the design

• Define operations and maintenance philosophies as an engineering basis for facilities, pipelines and wells

• Prepare full operations handover and acceptance of the wells, facilities and pipelines

• Build up and supervise a team and make sure that all personnel are adequately trained in safety procedures, processes, and regulations.

• Advises and implements processes and methods to improve job safety to protect personnel.

• Advises and implements processes and methods to improve job safety of machinery and equipment needing maintenance/repairs and protect the environment from operation of such machinery or equipment

• The Area Ops advisor must confirm that it is safe to conduct welding operations by ensuring that the work site, including the equipment to be used, have been inspected

• Require equipment & material to be in good condition & proper working order.

• Require a formal permit or a special worksheet.

• Trigger heightened communication between & among work groups.

• Clarify individual specific roles & responsibilities. Must be able to mentor Angolan workforce.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in offshore production operations management

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a role of Person In Charge (PIC)

• Expert knowledge in commissioning & start-up of new facilities, well operations and surface production operations

• Extensive subsurface experience Sound understanding of safety studies and HSE cases regime as well as legislative requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
