Accountant

Purpose of the position:

• Process the financial transactions of WV Angola specifically payments, charges, adjustments and receipts on a timely basis and in accordance to WV guidelines.
• Observe mission and core values of World Vision and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
• Petty Cash custodian; Prepare Cash Count & Petty cash replenishment in accordance with WV guidelines;
• Process all payment requests and employee expense reports ensuring completeness of supporting documentation/authorization. Timely sending of documents to Luanda for payment and settlements
• Assist in the monitoring of expenses for the project, in coordination with grant finance manager &; program manager for the financial report and financial performance of the project
• Assist in the finance administration and office procurement as well as asset inventory 10%
• Assist in the monitoring and following up of staff advances and other accounts

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

Minimum Qualification required:

• Must have done/currently taking some accounting courses
• Must have strong computer skills. Knowledge of computerised accounting packages
• Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Diploma/Degree in Accounting preferred

Experience:

• Must have at least two year’s experience in an Accounts department, with experience of performing bookkeeping and account reconciliations

Technical skills & Abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision, be a team player, innovative and demonstrate the capacity for maintaining high professional standards.
• Ensure a good and high level of quality customer service. Working knowledge in English both written and verbal.

• Travel: Limited to medium to project areas
