PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trains, disciplines and controls receiving supervisors and staff.
Makes sure that staff schedule and annual vacations are adjusted as per the high trading seasons.
Always in control of backroom, receiving yard and containers.
Makes sure that all deliveries are made against a PO signed by the Store Manager.
Makes sure that blind receiving applied with PDT for all grocery and nonfood delivery receivings.
Doesn’t allow anybody from the store or HO forces receiving without a PO.
Makes sure that every single stock delivered by DC or direct suppliers are counted properly, pack size checked for every single delivery.
Makes sure that supervisors of fresh categories physically attend the receiving to check and confirm the quality, quantity and PLU used for GRV.
Maintains the cold chain for fresh and frozen products.
Makes sure that cold deliveries are temperature checked and deliveries not meeting standards are rejected after all photos and documentation is prepared justifying the rejection.
Makes sure that free items accepted only if they are shown on the PO. Nobody is allowed to accept free stocks from a supplier or a service provider.
All physical deliveries are GRV stamped with authorized store team signatures, including non-commercial products i.e. gas for kitchen, diesel for generator.
Makes sure that one delivery received at a time within the receiving cage 2 doors closed until the receiving activity completed.
All deliveries except fresh received blindly using PDT – Blind Receiving means without looking at the invoiced quantities.
All deliveries are double checked by the security company.
All GRV’s entered on the system on a daily basis.
Participate and facilitate daily waste meeting to control dumping process as well as taking corrective actions to reduce overall wastage.
Ensures that products damaged or in unsellable condition are not received and rejected.
Makes sure that all pending GRV’s and claims are closed latest 2 days before the inventory – stock take.
Establish space for wastage/broken items, return to supplier and near expiry and makes sure that department staff and receiving staff maintain these areas properly – clean, tidy, not mix with other products to sell.
Makes sure that stock in the backroom rotated properly as per FEFO (First expiry First out).
Ensure that the receiving tools are in good conditions and available.
Ensure cleanliness of receiving yard and receiving area.
Identify the potential staff and propose development plan.
Ensure that the hygiene standards are respected (expiry, temperature, quality, safety).
Makes sure that staff comply with work safety regulations and rules during on-off loading and handling of goods/pallets.
Makes sure that staff uses work safety tools and equipment and don’t take any risk while handling products.All receiving documents are stamped, signed and archived properly.
Ensure that the work schedule is respected.
Identify risky suppliers from stock take loss report and supervise their deliveries to reduce losses.
Train his/her staff how to handle products maintain the categorical storage in the backroom.
Investigate root causes of high shrinkage products and take corrective actions or extra precautions to reduce losses.
Requisitos

Time management skills.
Have good communication skills
Understanding of retail basics.
Leadership skills.
Ability to identify priorities and urgencies and instruct teams accordingly.
Basic computer literacy.
EDUCATION: High School and above
LANGUAGE: Portuguese and English
EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years in the same position with hands on experience within a reputable supermarket or hypermarket chain.
