Dynamic Positioning Officer Engineer

The Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) reports to the Senior DPO and is responsible for navigation and controlling the vessel’s position, using the DP systems, manual controls and joysticks as appropriate. They will assist the Senior DPO in taking immediate action in any circumstance that could compromise the safety of the vessel, or the DP operation.

The DPO will maintain a comprehensive understanding of the DP control systems, including procedures for both automatic and manual system changeovers; and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and detailed understanding of the vessel’s DP Operations Manual, the company’s Field DP Manual, and Master/ OIM’s standing instructions.

- Unlimited DP Certificate

- CoC_OOW certificate without Vessel Limitation - Certificate of Competency Class 1 or class 2 preferable or Officer of the Watch as a minimum Requirement

- DP unlimited - GMDSS Relevant Experience

- 3 years Experience as DPO Engineer - 2 to 3 Years Standalone DP

- Ensuring company owned and managed DP vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.

- Ensuring that requisitions for supplies are tracked and expedited, ensure that all spares for the vessels are in order

- Responsible for ensuring that all mandatory procedures i.e. Tool box talks, Risk assessments, permits to work, hot work permits etc., are used effectively and filed for audit purposes.
